Initial Consultation

1~2 hours $275

All families seeking psychological services participate in a comprehensive consultation appointment. This allows the psychologist the opportunity to learn more about a child’s history as well as to gain greater understanding into why the family is seeking services. It helps to appropriately tailor each assessment to uniquely address each individual’s profile. During the consultation, families will be asked to provide information regarding academic, developmental, medical, and social history. There will also be ample opportunity for families to ask questions. Sessions vary but generally last between one to two hours.

Comprehensive Assessment

multiple days $2,800

Assessments conducted evaluate all areas of a child’s functioning including intellectual, academic, social, behavioral, and emotional functioning. Additionally, evaluations often assess for a child’s memory abilities, attention, and executive functioning. Assessments include the initial consultation, testing, and a feedback session. The testing portion of the assessment is typically conducted over a period of two days and also includes administration of rating parent and teacher rating forms. The time needed to conduct the assessment may vary based on presenting concerns. In addition to the formalized assessment, Dr. VanderWalde will often be in touch with treatment providers and school personnel as each individual family sees fit. Following the assessment, families meet again for a feedback session to provide families with a review of the results and recommendations. A formal report is generated with all of this information.

School Visits

$175

At the family’s request, Dr. VanderWalde is available to provide school visits for her clients. These school visits include (1) observing classroom behaviors as part of the psychological assessment and/or (2) attending meetings with school personnel to help support families in implementation of assessment report recommendations.

All services within this practice follow a “Fee for Service” model where families are required to pay for services but can be provided with documentation and proper receipts to submit for reimbursement from their insurance company. Reimbursement may be provided based on a child’s out-of-network benefits for services received.
